Heyyy guys! It's been a while hasn't it. Sorry I've been away, I've just been recently busy with some personal stuff but I'm back greater than ever. I'm actually back because recently we've been given another task and it's a task like we've never gotten before. There will be 3 questions that I will be answering in today's blog and it's all about my perspective of what I think about the novel "A Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake".
One of the questions was "How does the last image about the trees have to do with Rose and her family?" In my opinion, I think the tree in the novel represents the family tree of the special family members in the family which consists of Rose, Joseph and her dad. As you can tell trees consists of branches and roots and to me these branches and roots represents the special capabilities of each person and how they cope with their capabilities. For example, Rose with her speciality of feeling emotion after eating a certain food made by someone. She has to endure the strength to face her fears of using her powers and has to truly embrace it to only control her capability and learn to appreciate it. Sometimes even if life gives you the toughest obstacle, it also gives you the strength to overcome it and trust me the outcome is definitely worth it.
Further more, the question that we got asked is "How would you interpret the last line of the novel". In my opinion, I think the last line of the novel is just trying to convey how the characters of the novel try to cope with their disabilities. For example, Rose, Joseph and their father suffer the consequences of having these special gifts or some of them may refer to it as disabilities or curses. This is because all three of them really do not like their gifts and don't appreciate it at all as it only causes trouble to them. The last line also tries to interpret how they cope with this disabilities. For example, Joseph can't control himself from converting into a chair and doesn't know how to solve his adaptation problem. On the other hand Rose gets help from George by trying to discover and control her powers of feeling emotion after the the first bite of eating something. These show the greats strengths and effort shown by the character in trying to control their powers.
My third and final question is "What did you like (and dislike) most about the Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake" and would you recommend it to someone? In my opinion, there are some things which I find quite interesting and I really like how the author of this novel got to showcase the different types of people with their different capabilities. On top of that, the storyline of this novel is mostly based about the relationship between one another in a family. What I liked about this novel is that Rose, the main actor has to be independent on her own and even though she goes through her own struggles in the end it is worth it as I think it is better for someone to develop on their own because the end product is worth it. This novel also teaches us how we should care for one another and should always be there for someone when they are in need. On the other hand, there are also a few things I dislike about the novel. Such as, I didn't really understand the ending that much and there wasn't much content in the end. I don't know if this is what the author was going for but I'd rather have it more elaborated about the different characters and what had happened to them in the end.

To what extent does one is one and all alone' can be applied in life?
hello everybody, how's your weekend? haha i'm sure you guys are exhausted with the packed schedule. but you know, my parents once said to me (i don't remember my dad or my mom said this lol) just do what you can but do the best out of it. don't push yourself too hard until you get sick or tired #suddenly :)
so, for this task, we were assigned to analyse the last part of the novel that we learned which is The Particular Sadness Of Lemon Cake which is the tree part. Based on my understanding, the author wanted to tell us that even though you stand alone, doesn't mean you are weak. This can be related to Rose where she is the only one that has the power that she get to know someone's feeling by tasting their foods. The tree survived so does Rose. The tree is the only one that survived of the felling-over case but despite that,the islanders think that it is so unique that they even celebrate summer under it. and because of one tree, other trees grew up and survived like the one did.
About the last sentence of this novel, it says about what is the difference of having power but not happiness with the people who have no power but can live life happily? What about his brother who dissapered for good where he doesn't have to face the judgements like how Rose had to. People only make their judgements without considering her feeling making her feel bad of having such power. Get what I mean?
What I like about this story is the powers Rose and her family have. I do like super power and magic. If I can, I want to have the power to fly. With that power, I can go to class on time. And the most important thing is even though I late, I won't get scolded by the wardens hahahaha lol jkjk. I will use my power for good purposes only ok I promise ✋. What I don't like about this story is the relationship between her mother with her boss, Larry. I really don't like people interrupting in family's relationship. For me, every family has problem and that doesn't mean that they are not happy. I don't like secrets between family because for me, secrets prevent us from being a good family. Yes I know not everything can be told or shared but if you don't want to share, don't make the other members know about it at all.

Hi everyone! This entry will wrap things up about our blog entries on the Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. We were assigned to basically give our interpretation on the last part of the novel and give our comments about the novel. Let's just make haste and go straight to the point shall we?
On my opinion, the part where it stated about the old elegant palm type having veracious roots and enormous trunk but it was no match for the steady impact of beaks and thinner dirt and unprotected weather. The tree fell all the way over and into the ocean depicts the characteristics of Joseph where he always looks steady and seems to be less dependent toward social attention. However after slowly going through the hardships of life alone, his determination to continue to be a part of this world sunk. After he discovered the way to change into things, his weaken will to continue his life becomes the limiting factor to change back into a normal human being. The other part where the novel stated about a tree where the islanders commented upon as a symbol of survival describes herself who also been through hardships in life due to the unique ability of hers. However she did find a way to cope with her power and to live a normal happy life.
The last line of the novel is telling us that her situation is different than her brother's. Her ability is a burden to her in some ways because she could not eat a cooked food normally like any normal people do. However she have a few people that she could turn into whenever she needed them. Her brother in the other hand, is an introvert who pretty much stayed alone. His ability to become into an object is much more of a burden than his sister's ability. When he became a chair, his sense of timeline, sence of hunger or thirst and sense of tiredness are nonexistent. He couldn't feel any of them. That's why he took a very long while to become into a human and became weak every time he changed back into a human again.
What I like the most about this novel is the determination of Rose to try and cope with her ability despite facing other problems in life such as having to know things that she isn't supposed to know before hand as a little girl. All those hardships she faced made her more matured and became stronger day by day, The part what I dislike about the novel is that the story is too linear and lacks the feel of thrill and suspense. I would recommend this to people who's at an older age because I think most people of the young generation don't really like to read this linear type of story.

Hello people, todays entry kind of wraps everything up about The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. We were assigned by our beloved teacher to answer three questions related to the novel. So, lets stop the idle chatter and cut to the chase.
To be honest for the first question, i kinda on the same boat with Maryam about the image of the trees and how they have to do with Rose and her family. I think what she'd stated in her post were all make sense, surprisingly!. About how the trees at the rim of the island are somehow depict the character Joseph himself. How very unstable one of the tree towards the nature despite its enormous trunk and voracious roots is very similar to Joseph who is introvert and extremely prone to change although he has his family which is his support system. I also agree with her about how the trees in the second ring and the ones at the twenty yards in are one way or another have to do with Rose and her father respectively. One of the trees in the the second ring which is very interesting that the islanders commented upon as a symbol of survival is very much like Rose as she continue living her normal life with her peculiar ability although at first she had troubles accepting it. On the other hand, the trees, twenty yards in are like wise represent the father himself which stays strong and continues to provides oxygen(support) and shade(a place) for his family.
For the second question, the last line of the novel in my opinion is meant to say that Rose's ability in some ways is different to her brother's as hers is very not a burden to her though she had several bad times because of her power compared to her brother who can turns into something while having no clue about the time and if changes back into the human form will be very weak in condition.
And for the last question, i will say that the thing that i like about the novel is how unique it is with some of the characters having their own special abilities in which are not the type of common superpowers you can find in the X-men movies. The specific part that like which touches me in the novel is the part where Rose remembers all the very very little moments she had with her brother when her brother holds her hand for the last time in the hospital. And as for the thing that i dislike about the novel, is the usage of words which is very difficult for someone like me whos very poor in vocabs to understand. All in all, the novel had been such a nice narrative in which i will surely suggest to someone; especially the one who wishes to understand more about life.

was super fantastic because of the conducive learning environment, tempting foods
and the very pleasant scenery. We really enjoyed every minute in the historical
city of Melaka but now, let’s put that aside because it's time to update this
lemon blog before it become dull and more “krik-krik”.
For the first question, I thought that the
last image about the trees was only related to the main character and her life
but it actually can be relate to other family members also. The trees are
growing in a small island of California and every stages of tree have their own
adaptations to survive with the harsh weather at the coast of central
California. When I read it, this kind of tree story is continued with Rose’s
food story and it actually give me a hint that the image of the trees just act
as a symbolism of Rose’s condition. The fact that she is the only one that
knows about his brother’s ability to become furniture taught her to be
responsible and find ways to keep up her promise just like the trees finding
ways to survive. In addition, Rose also faces some difficulty to cope with her
ability but she’s a patient girl and able to survive with help from vending
machines and family. Hence, the trees also could symbolize her father, Joseph
and her mother because all of them have their own problems to be solved. 👀
The last line of the novel saying that “Was it
so different than the choice of a card-table chair, except my choice meant I
could stay in the world and his didn’t?” could mean anything the writer wants
us interpret the writer give the readers a chance to interpret it in our own
way. For me, I would say that the line means Lily feel sympathy towards his
brother because he cannot resist himself to not turn to chair or whatever but
Lily just bears with human emotions and she still can live her life. While his
brother missing, he also doesn’t know how many days has passed and her body
will badly dehydrated. Pity on him but he still manage to do constant practice
and found out that the chair is the best option. Good job Joseph! 🙌
Lastly, I really like this novel because of
the main character, Rose. I love weird and strange things but when I try to put
myself in Rose, I feel it's impossible to have that abnormal ability without
any genetic or any accidents happened, just like she's naturally gifted with
that ability. So this fact triggered me to study more about this vending-machine
girl and love the styles of the writer as I read it. The writer was so
imaginative like it’s was really happened in her real life. It could be right? I
try to look at this case in the positive side and found out that Rose's special
ability can be used to find a solution for someone’s problems by eating what
they cooked and know their emotions. It’s super cool actually but I would
choose the power to become invisible compared to Lily’s ability. I’m quite
close with my sister and I would recommend this book to her. After she finished
reading, we could laugh together when talking about the weird scenes in the
novel.

So ,to make it short and simple what i think about the relation of the image of tree and rose's family is about how rose , joseph and their father survive their life with their supernatural power . These gifts that has become a burden to their life because their powers sucks . Like literally , the power give no benefits to the society and only causing them problems . But they still keep on living and endure any problems that they faced . Maybe the way they handle their problem is kinda weird and irrational (to some extent ) but it shows that they have determination to keep on living with their power .
'Was it so different than the choice of a card-table chair, except my choice meant I could stay in the world and his didn't?' is this a knowledge question ? only god knows . From my opinion , this line show that different people have different ways of escaping or solving a problem if they face the same problem . Just look at how rose eat factory processed food so that she could not feel the emotions of the people that could make her go haywire meanwhile joseph end up being a furniture . good for him .
What i like about this novel is how the novel is accurately show us about family problems and relationship in the real world . What i dislike about this novel is how it have no happy ending and the powers that writer gave to them sucks . Just for a heads up, Im sooo bad at interpreting certain things so please bare with me.
So Rose did mention about a small island off the coast of central California. At the rim of the island, there were trees. Lots of them. And they were the nice-looking type of trees. Rose described them as "...kind of stretchy, tasty bark...". Im imagining them as a work of art. And like most art, they are fragile. An elegant palm type actually fell over due to the fact it grew closest to the edge of the island where there are thinner dirt and more birds compared to the inside. Slowly, moving in deeper into the island, Rose explained that the trees were still being overtaken by birds and stuffs, but they still stood tall. They actually had sufficient sunlight and space for their lovely roots to grow. There was this particular tree who reached sideways with twisted branches and it had this interesting vibe to it. Soon, islanders look upon the tree as a symbol of survival. Going in 20 yards in? The trees were all well and dandy. They were all strong and functional. More space, less birds, no dents.
So... WhAt In ThE wOrLd DoEs AnY oF tHeSe HaVe To Do WiTh RoSe'S fAmIlY?
Okay. lets imagine the whole island itself as reality. Anything beyond the island would be an escape from REALITY. Remember the elegant palm tree falling over? yeah. That would be Joseph. He wanted to escape reality. And he found a way how. By turning into a chair. The only way he could be in his own world without being disrupt by the change of time and people. But little did he know, the closer he was to the "edge", the easier he would fall. He has no grasp on reality and is barely hanging on. By the time he had fallen deep enough, there's no hope in saving him. The mother actually falls into this category also due to her constant wood work. She does that to overcome her issues in the family by keeping herself busy with carpentering. So in a way, that was how she escaped her depressing reality.
The second layer? That would be Rose. Throughout the book, she slowly learnt how to overcome her "special ability" and accept who she is. She also had her issues and Im pretty sure if she had the opportunity, she would also want to escape the reality she lived in. But somehow, she knew the consequences of it. And she didn't want her beloved ones to be fooled by whats beyond reality. She reached out to them. You'd noticed how she would always ask about her mother and brother. It would be a "Are you okay" or a "Is anything bothering you" type of question. Yet through all of these, she managed to still be somewhat balanced and capable of surviving this cruel world we call reality. That's why she is one of the most interesting characters in the book.
Going on about the third layer. Thats when the father comes into place. He seems to be the most normal and "human" of them all. Like the trees, he is the most functional. He is also like the only one who doesnt mind to live in this reality. He somehow holds the family together from falling apart. Preventing those that can be saved from falling in deeper into "non-reality".
Hence, that is my point of view on the image of the trees with Rose's family. So sorry if it sounded a bit 'merepek' to some of you.
2. How do you interpret the last line of the novel?
Well, for Rose to not feel other people's emotions, she would eat factory made food (oreos). She clearly can't stand the taste of despair and guilt in someones home made food. So to be able to not taste them, she would rather eat something that was made by machines. However, for Joseph, to not feel people's emotions, that meant he had to change into a chair, allowing him to be as far away as possible from humans. Rose thinks it is so unfair that for her brother to run away from this, he has to run away from the world they lived in where else Rose only needs to enter a dollar into a vending machine and her problem would be solved. That is the sad reality she and her brother lived in. Maybe it was made that way so Rose would be grateful with how can she easily dispose the problem.
3.What did you like (and dislike) most about the Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake? and would you recommend it to someone?
Honestly, I loved the beginning of the book. I love how the author allowed Rose to taste people's emotion just from a bite of something. It was really something new for me. Also the way the author portrays the sanity of the family. It was really interesting. Until the part when it became too weird to bare. I am really unsatisfied with what her brother turned into. When I told my friends about that particular part, they were all dumbfounded. Why cant the author turned him into something cool? He was already dull in his real form, so why turn him into something duller? I wanted him to transform into a dragon. At least his transformation would have been more epic. During his dragon form, he would meet other dragons and mingle. Have fun, etc. I think that would make the story line more awesome, I guess? Nevertheless, the book was fun to read and somewhat relatable with what is going on in our lives. But then, Im still not happy that Joseph turned into a chair. Lastly, I would recommend this book to someone due to superb plot and content. But I would warn them about the brother. They should know that things do get a little weird.

Hence, that is my point of view on the image of the trees with Rose's family. So sorry if it sounded a bit 'merepek' to some of you.
2. How do you interpret the last line of the novel?
Well, for Rose to not feel other people's emotions, she would eat factory made food (oreos). She clearly can't stand the taste of despair and guilt in someones home made food. So to be able to not taste them, she would rather eat something that was made by machines. However, for Joseph, to not feel people's emotions, that meant he had to change into a chair, allowing him to be as far away as possible from humans. Rose thinks it is so unfair that for her brother to run away from this, he has to run away from the world they lived in where else Rose only needs to enter a dollar into a vending machine and her problem would be solved. That is the sad reality she and her brother lived in. Maybe it was made that way so Rose would be grateful with how can she easily dispose the problem.
3.What did you like (and dislike) most about the Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake? and would you recommend it to someone?
Honestly, I loved the beginning of the book. I love how the author allowed Rose to taste people's emotion just from a bite of something. It was really something new for me. Also the way the author portrays the sanity of the family. It was really interesting. Until the part when it became too weird to bare. I am really unsatisfied with what her brother turned into. When I told my friends about that particular part, they were all dumbfounded. Why cant the author turned him into something cool? He was already dull in his real form, so why turn him into something duller? I wanted him to transform into a dragon. At least his transformation would have been more epic. During his dragon form, he would meet other dragons and mingle. Have fun, etc. I think that would make the story line more awesome, I guess? Nevertheless, the book was fun to read and somewhat relatable with what is going on in our lives. But then, Im still not happy that Joseph turned into a chair. Lastly, I would recommend this book to someone due to superb plot and content. But I would warn them about the brother. They should know that things do get a little weird.

Hi again pals ! Today, I'm going to write an entry on the task given to us. There are 3 questions that I'll be answering. I hope that I'm not too lazy to write my full opinion and perspective about the novel (ngehehe), The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake in this entry haha.
For the first question, we were asked about the tree described by Rose and it's relation to Rose herself and her family.
The trees mentioned in the last chapter is probably about the people in the world and how we cope with our lives. The trees described to be near the shore are like the people with extraordinary abilities like Rose, Joseph and their father. They live by depending on their fate and how hard they try to adapt themselves, there are still obstacles that they have to go through to live normally. Sometimes, fate sets them down and turn their options to live like normal people are limited and can't be solved as a whole. The people further inside from the rim of the island are normal people. These people live easily as they can always adapt themselves as certain problems arrise. So, as a whole, the trees is just an analogy used to describe two contradicting conditions faced by humans.
The second question is how do you interpret the last line of the novel ?
From my own perspective, the last line is about how different is she,Rose, and her brother, Joseph cope with their lives after discovering their special abilities. Joseph can't control himself from emerging into furniture and become one and he doesn't know how to solve and adapt to his condition. Meanwhile for Rose, she is able to find solutions and motivations for her to overcome her problems with her ability and lastly managed to likely live like a normal person. In the last line, she is actually questioning herself what is the difference of being her, who can live by avoiding food that contains terrible feelings and her brother Joseph who can't live as human as he keeps on changing into furniture, when both of them are abnormals, peculiar and different from other humans ?
For the last question, what did I like and dislike about this novel ?
First of all, the thing that I like about this novel is the way the writer lead the story. This is from the direct language and descriptions she wrote to the plots and development of characters in the novel. This novel really shows the reality of the conflicts and problems we face in our lives. As you know, this novel tells a story of a girl's life who has an ability to taste people's feelings in the food she eats, starting from 9 years old until she is in her 20's. I really love how the writer managed to create such piece that kind of reflects our own journey of life and behavior throughout our phase of growing up. The story is not very cliche' and common too. The story is very unique that even though it portrays the story of a family, it still attracted my interest to continue reading it without getting bored. Well, MOST people tend to love reading romance novels instead of something related to family oriented novels because the novels related to relationship in families that I have read so far were very lame and boring and sometimes it made me read only 1/3 of the novel because I couldn't stand reading something so boring !!! The last reason I like this novel is because it taught me how to deal with life and the problems I am facing, faced and will face in the future. It also taught about how to overcome and adapt with my own weaknesses thus, try to be tough and endure the pain whenever something hurts me and make me feel down. I really like the way the writer delivered her message through her writing. The only thing that I dislike about this story is that it is waaaayyyy sssooooo illogical and all this superpower thingy going on along the story. I don't really like reading that kind of story by the way but it is okay for me as long as it has something to do with reality and life.

I owe you guys a lemon cake!
So I've finally managed to read everyone's post on the topic of beauty. I must say this topic is one of my favourites since I got to read such interesting posts and discovered a thing or two about yourselves and your preferences ;) You're all beautiful in your own way and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
So this post is really to post a new task :) I've been putting it off for long and before you forget about the lemon cake story I'd better do it now!
And yes, I owe you all a lemon cake too. It will appear one of these days before we end the semester :D

which give extra attention to their body and face but also men. This lead to
changes in the lifestyle of men such as they went to spa for massage, facials, manicures and pedicures,
survey for a suitable beauty products and get hair treatment once or twice a month.
Now, there are also men who become a founder for a beauty product and more
knowledgeable about beauty compared to women. Looking at the picture, there is
a man with beard having a facial treatment in a spa and he is looking calm and
relaxes. This is obviously a good thing but then, there are also problems when
men are too focused to become pretty and obsessed with themselves. It’s kind of
weird and annoying people in some ways.

Nowadays, people are often insecure about themselves especially about their bodies. This insecurity is really common among adolescents as they are going through puberty and they are just discovering their body. Everyone wants the perfect body but what really is a perfect body. Media plays a big part in this as most tv shows and movies showcase actors and actresses who are perfect and flawless. While uncontrollably adding fuel to the flames, media can also help adolescents overcome developing a negative body imagine through different possible ways and this is what I'd like to address in today's entry.

On the other hand, this is not really necessary as there are some films who don't look at this factor when hiring actors. For example in the movie Pitch Perfect, they hired Rebel Wilson to play this character called "Fat Amy". On top of that, she embarrassed herself for who she is and inspired others with insecurities that it doesn't matter how you look like as long as you are happy and you love yourself.

EATING DISORDERS
Hi guys ! For today's entry, me, Hadri and Usman will be talking about eating disorders. First thing you need to know is that this disorder is not gender-biased. It happens to females and also males too. Eating disorders are real, complex, and devastating conditions that can have serious consequences for health, productivity, and relationships. Eating disorders are serious, potentially life-threatening conditions that affect a person’s emotional and physical health.
The main reason is because they constantly feel INSECURE !!! They are not satisfied with their body shape and they are always being pressured by the judgemental society.
In the United States, 20 million women and 10 million men suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder at some time in their life, including anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder and bulimia nervosa. Many individuals struggle with body dissatisfaction and the best-known contributor to the development of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa is body dissatisfaction. By age 6, girls especially start to express concerns about their own weight or shape. 40-60% of elementary school girls (ages 6-12) are concerned about their weight or about becoming too fat.
BINGE EATING DISORDER
Binge eating disorder is a type of eating disorder where a person eat large quantities of food (often very quickly and to the point of discomfort) but without behaviors to prevent weight gain, such as self-induced vomiting.
BULIMIA NERVOSA
Bulimia nervosa is a serious, potentially life-threatening eating disorder characterized by a cycle of bingeing and compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting designed to undo or compensate for the effects of binge eating. Some of the symptoms of bulimia are frequent episodes of consuming very large amount of food followed by behaviors to prevent weight gain, such as self-induced vomiting, a feeling of being out of control during the binge-eating episodes and self-esteem overly related to body image.

So here, I'm going to write about a word "beautiful". Men and women are two distinct creatures but
for me, they can be “beautiful” in same way and it actually depends on how you
perceive the meaning of beauty. Men’s figure are obviously different if
compared to women but now, I would like to ignore that aspect and the same way
that I intended should be is the personality of both gender. When I mentioned
personality, it can best describe as the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character. This can be referred to the way they talk, how
their face expression, level of hygiene care, and the way they solve problems
in critical situation. All of this cannot be made by make-up and it will
naturally convey from our soul through our own actions, expression and
appearance in the real world. That’s what called inner beauty enhances
someone’s physical beauty.
Next, man is believed to be beautiful if he has a
symmetrical face and body. Symmetrical men are much more attractive than
asymmetric man. A good symmetry sign good genes and we all look for subtle
genetic indicators when choosing mate. Next, men should get an average crop of
facial hair. Man with full beard is not exactly attractive although it can
depict masculinity and aggressiveness. Stubble is sexier than full beard or clean
shave man. Lastly, men should get to the gym and work for bigger muscles
because it’s look beautiful in some women’s eyes. Bigger muscles are sign of
good health and good genes and this subconsciously attract women to choose them
as future husband.
For women, they’re believed to be a beauty when they have
a flawless skin without considering the colour of their skin. Flawless skin can
be an indicator that they take a good care of their body and appreciate what
they have. Next, beautiful women are one with fun-loving spirit. A woman will taste disappointment in her life just like everyone else. The point is, a sense of adventure and appreciation for all that life has to offer is more attractive that relentlessly sticking to routine and taking life's opportunities for granted. Finally, women with great passion also seem to be beautiful. They understand that life is too precious to speed along without enjoying the ride. These kind of women love to enjoy all that life has to offer, not just her partner or her relationships because passion is contagious. Watching someone pursue her dreams is just about the most beautiful experience human beings can have.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Basically, everybody
will think about the same thing when they hear about this quote. For me, this
quote really is meaningful because it opens my eyes about someone’s beauty. Have
you ever heard somebody compliments you? How do you feel about that? And how do
you react on it? Do you think they are sincere when they said that?

you are not pretty or handsome but still someone compliments you .ahhhaaa!! This
is when the quote works. If they think you are beautiful, then you really are
beautiful. It is not the matter of flawless and skinny or having fair skin, but
it depends on the eyes that are looking. Someone might think that you are
pretty but you still cannot deny that maybe some people think that you are not
(don’t kill them). That is why, we cannot judge what people see. It is not applicable
to prettiness only. It can be someone’s perception on other things such as colour
or scenery. Like me, I love purple and
blue. I don’t really like green and yellow because I think they are so shiny
lol. But I don’t hate people who like green (cc: Hanis) because they have their
own perception on what they love. Have you ever seen loving couple who are not
suitable to each other (in your perception) like maybe the guy is too handsome
for that girl (it often happens when you have crush on him (#me) hahaha) or that girl is so damn pretty but she
got an average looking guy (in your
perception #again) as her boyfriend. No no
no. we cannot judge. Maybe for them, their partner is the most handsome or
pretty human being in the world. (but I really hate people who post about their
partner everyday every time every minute erghh!!)
Everybody must have a bucket list of the characteristics that
they want in their partner (you do , don’t lie). But don’t get surprised if you
get someone that is not even fulfill your dream list. Those are all fate that cannot
be dodged as a human. To conclude, despite all the judgements that you get, the
most important thing that you must have is confident. Confident can change
everything (but don’t be over confident) . Just love yourself because nobody
will do.

MEDIA BEAUTY
hello peeps , yesterday my teacher gave me a task to write an entry blog about this english proverb . WHY? this is because we just did an some questions on a text about manorexia . For your information manorexia is men with eating disorder . It is similar with anaroxia but kinda different .
enough with this nonsense , let's move on with proverb.
There is a proverb in english : ' Beauty is in the eye of the beholder '. I find this proverb partially true , it depends on what the individual is observing . For instance , if one is an art student and a science student (not stereotyping) is observing a Pablo Picasso artwork they would not have the same perception of it . For example :
Amir Farhan : This painting is full with aesthetic values , the most gorgeous thing i've ever seen ! LEGIT !!
Aminin Aqil : What the hello is this? ughhh ....
So , basically beauty is something that is very subjective to an individual . Sometimes beauty can be manipulated by culture , religion or even the media . Nowadays most people perception of beauty is influenced by how the media perceive beauty . It shows that beauty can be manipulated and control through authority that is the media . The media would say that ladies with fair skin and voluptuous body would be the most beautiful , and we can see through how they choose the most sexiest women alive which mostly fit the criteria that i just given . I'll be discussing about "are men and women beautiful in the same
ways?"
WHAT MAKES A BEAUTIFUL MAN
Generally stating, a beautiful man or a good looking man is always
associated with a nice and lean physique and is well dressed. Even though many
people, mostly men, strongly disagree with that statement because most of them
do not have a lean physique or a muscular build, and yet people still love them
the way they are. People are easily triggered with this stereotype because
they're afraid that they might not fit the requirements and probably get
rejected by the society. Don't get it wrong. Most surveys conducted to show
what society, in general, describes a good looking man, are based on their
expected first impressions if they were to meet a man for the first time. The
results can also be influenced by their background culture. For example, Asians
might not think that white men are attractive because they all look the same
while white women might prefer white men because they don’t prefer Asians with slit
eyes. But don't be sad, this is only a general statement. Because the most
important thing is the beauty within a person.

WHAT MAKES A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN
What makes a beautiful woman? Beautiful women are always seen as someone
who has a tight body and is fair skinned and is flawless in every aspect. Lol. Women,
like men are also easily triggered when it comes to beauty. People in Malaysia
might prefer those criteria however those in the Europe or in The States might
prefer tanned skin rather than pale white. This shows that our background
culture really influences our taste and perception towards beauty. Women also
think that being supremely thin is also considered a beauty. But those are just
my two cents, since this is a very subjective and also arguable. We can
conclude that roughly what makes a man or a woman beautiful is the external and
internal aspects, (the inner and the physical beauty). But, if we narrow down
we can see that there are distinctive criteria which to some extent, are gender-biased.
For example, majority of the society might perceive a buff and muscular woman
as unattractive. Only muscular males are considered attractive (not entirely). Basically, the way we consider a person to be beautiful is roughly the same for both genders.

Beauty Is An Illusion
When I was in high school, I was surrounded by friends who were constantly beautifying themselves. They would start the day with Safi Day Cream and end it with Safi Night Cream. They would wear face masks on weekends and apply toner on their daily basis. Being an inquirer as usual, I would asked my friends why were they doing what they did. One of them smiled at me and said " To look pretty lah".

This kinda triggered me because the last time I checked, beauty came from the inside. Not from applying tons of cream onto your face. I only nodded to my friend and continued doing my work. The next day, I told my friend about what happened and I complained to her that people wasted too much time in becoming "beautiful". She laughed at me for being mad over that and said something that I will always remember (unless I have Amnesia). She said " Human's definition of beauty will never be the same unless all of them were the same person". I was surprised with what she said because she never uttered something philosophical. But she was right.
Beauty's definition will never be absolute. It will vary from person to person until the end of time. Hence bringing us to the proverb ;
If my friends back in high school saw beauty as having flawless, fair skin, then who can argue. If my definition of beauty was having a kind and warm personality, then that's it. What I see beautiful will always be different from what others see is beautiful. That's the thrill of being a human. We are so subjective.
