Atia and I were given a task to find and list down characterizations of Lane Edelstein or whom you guys might know as Rose's mom 🌹. So here are some traits that we found.
🕐)she is responsible
* like any other mom,it is their duty to prepare meals for their respective families. So basically it is their responsibility. Lane would always be ready with a meal and from what we've read in the novel, Lane rarely never cooks.
*page 92 (from her action)
"Family dinner of roast beefs and potatoes"
🕑) she is a favouritism
*in every family there is always a favourite. And in this case,its a favourite child. Lane favours her firstborn,which is Joseph, compared to Rose. And we guess it was obvious because in page 48;
"My mom loved my brother more"
(It was her feeling/thought)
🕒) she is active
*We're not talking about sports here,no. We're talking about doing many things in your spare time. At one point Lane quitted her job, but did she became a lazy bum? No. In a matter of fact, she was the opposite. She tried plenty of things and to our opinion, seems exciting.

"After quiting het first job, she spent those first six months beautifying the house"
(These are words by Rose)
🕓) she is beautiful 👰
*back in the days when life wasnt filled with stress and kids, Lane was drop dead gorgeous. Okay, maybe we are a bit over reacting but from our imagination, she was.
*page 86
"They would described my mother as resembling a mermaid with legs"
*see? Heres a picture of a mermaid
*however, we are not implying that Lane is not beautiful anymore. She is. Inside and out. InshaAllah
In a nutshell, Lane is a wonderful woman. She has her flaws but dont we all. Lane kinda moves the story along and makes the story more interesting.
